The Purschkes have been business owners in Franklin Co. for four generations, owning and operating machine, oil, gas, tire, and other small businesses. Pete Purschke will highlight the rise and fall of small service stations in Franklin Co., and his family’s impact of owning and running the Purschke Oil Company.
Robert “Pete” Purschke was raised in Union. He left for several years to earn a Business Administration degree from St. Benedict College in, Atchison, KS and returned to his hometown to raise a family and to become part of the family business of Purschke Oil Company. Pete has had a long-time interest of local history and has attended the Local History Classes for 21 years.
